Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients

  • Black chocolate – 175 g
  • Liqueur (Irish cream) or brandy – 2 tablespoons or to taste (a little)
  • Nuts (Brazilian, cashew, or walnuts), finely chopped – 1/4 cup
  • Dried chopped cherries – 1/4 cup

Directions

  1. Chop the nuts and cherries finely.
  2. Grate 50 g of chocolate on a fine grater. Break 125 g of chocolate into small pieces and melt: in a microwave oven (on medium power for 1-2 minutes) or in a steam bath (over a saucepan of hot water, without touching the surface of boiling water). Stir until smooth.
  3. Stir liqueur into melted chocolate, add nuts and cherries. Let cool (about 30 minutes).
  4. Taking a full teaspoon of the chocolate mixture, make balls (about 15 candies) and roll them in grated chocolate. Place on parchment or foil.
  5. Place the chocolate truffles in the refrigerator for 30 minutes (or until they harden).
  6. Serving chocolate truffles is great with coffee.
