How to cook ciabatta at home:
Directions
Sift the flour.
Add sugar and salt. Mix everything.
Add some spicy herbs if desired.
Dissolve the yeast with room temperature water. Put it into the flour.
Mix until smooth. Add the olive oil.
Knead the dough (it should be very soft).
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave it in a warm place for 2 hours.
Cover a baking tray with parchment and sprinkle it with some flour.
Put carefully the dough on the prepared baking tray.
Sprinkle the ciabatta dough well with the flour and press it down to form a flat cake. Cover it with a towel and let the dough rise.
Divide the risen dough into portions.
Make shallow incisions in each piece so that the ciabatta will bake better.
Preheat the oven up to 250 degrees. Place the ciabatta into the oven. The total baking time is about 20-30 minutes. After 10 minutes, sprinkle the surface of the dough with a little water to get a crispy crust.
