Curd Cake with Orange Zest and Chocolate Icing

The curd cake according to this recipe is very tender. Thanks to the addition of orange zest to the dough, the pie is very aromatic. And the chocolate icing makes the cake even more beautiful and delicious.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Soft cottage cheese – 250 g
  • Eggs – 4 pcs.
  • Flour – 250 g
  • Butter – 190 g
  • Sugar – 170 g
  • Vanillin – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Baking powder – 10 g
  • Orange (zest) – 1 pc.

For glaze:

  • Butter – 30 g
  • Black or milk chocolate – 60 g

Instructions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients. Remove the butter for the dough from the refrigerator in advance so that it softens. If the cottage cheese is not soft, then you must first grind it through a sieve.
  2. Put soft butter (180 g) in a bowl, add sugar, salt and vanillin. Beat with a mixer for 2-3 minutes. Then beat in one egg, beat again. So, one at a time, add all the eggs, whisking until smooth. Layout the cottage cheese. Beat.
  3. Combine flour with baking powder. Mix. Pour flour and baking powder into the curd mass. Mix. Wash the orange well, grate the orange part of the zest on a fine grater. Place the orange zest in the curd dough. Stir again.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease a baking dish (22 cm in diameter) with butter (10 g). To do this, it is most convenient to send the mold to a preheated oven for 30 seconds, and then grease the sides and bottom of the mold with oil with a silicone brush.
  5. Put the curd dough in a mold, smooth it with a spatula. Bake curd pie with orange zest in the oven at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Focus on your oven.
  6. Prepare the icing. Put butter (30 g) and chocolate in a bowl. Put the bowl on low heat, melt the chocolate, be sure to stir it all the time with a fork.
  7. Put the finished curd pie on a dish and pour over the melted chocolate. Spread the chocolate over the entire dia of the cake with a spoon.
  8. Cut the curd cake with chocolate icing into portions and serve with tea or coffee.
