Ingredients

  • 1 cube yeast
  • 500g flour
  • 250 ml water, lukewarm
  • 6 tablespoon olive oil
  • some salt and pepper
  • 2 bell peppers your choice
  • 2 spring onion (s)
  • 500 g minced beef or pork or mixed
  • 250 g feta cheese
  • some paprika powder, hot or noble sweet
  • some leaf parsley
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. Crumble the yeast and dissolve it in 250 ml of lukewarm water. Mix the flour, 4 tablespoons of olive oil and salt. Add yeast and knead. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
  2. Dice the peppers and cut the spring onions into rings. Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan. Season the minced meat with salt, pepper and paprika powder and fry in it. Add the diced paprika and spring onions and fry for about 2 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat (convection: 175 ° C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface into an approx. 35 x 45 cm rectangle. Halve lengthways. Cut the width into 3 equal strips. Place the strips of dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Spread the mince in the middle of the dough strips as a strand. Fold up the long sides so that the mince is firmly enclosed on the sides by the dough. Firmly press the ends of the dough together so that a boat is formed. Cut or crumble the feta into small cubes and sprinkle the minced meat with it. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
  5. After baking, cut the parsley into fine strips, sprinkle the dumplings with them and serve. Tzatzik fits in with that.
  6. The recipe is enough for 6 dumplings as shown in the photo. For a party you can form several small dumplings from the same ingredients, which are great as finger food.
