Instructions

  1. The preparation for the Mehlknöpfla is very simple: Cut the rolls into small cubes and place in a bowl. Mix in the eggs and salt and stir in enough flour to make a dumpling dough that is not too firm. Let the dough stand a little (approx. 15 - 30 min.).
  2. In the meantime, put on a saucepan with salted water. When the water boils, cut off the dumpling dough with a tablespoon and let the Knöpfla simmer for about 10-15 minutes more than boil.
  3. The Knöpfla are a delicious accompaniment to goulash & Co. or sauerkraut. We also like them with braised ribs with sauce!

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
