  1. Since I am not the only one who wants to prepare tasty frappuccinos - which unfortunately can be very costly due to the risk of addiction - at home, I would like to share my experiences here.
  2. I have tried a few recipes from the net, many claimed to have the Original Starbucks recipe, but none of the results were the same as the original. I also only managed to approximate it, as many factors certainly play a role; not just the quantities, but also the selection and quality of the ingredients and the kitchen equipment (unfortunately I don`t have a Blendtec mixer at home, and neither do many others!).
  3. The basis is of course the coffee. I take a lungo (an espresso that has been through for a long time), but you can also use very strong filter coffee, espresso doble, any instant stuff - whatever you have there!
  4. Put the coffee in the blender with milk. The amount of milk can be varied according to taste, I usually use significantly less than 100 ml, it`s a question of trying! A knife tip, if you like more, add pectin (for a creamier consistency), as well as additives for the taste. Mix briefly.
  5. Additions: There are no limits to your imagination and taste. I like caramel frappuccino, so I put caramel syrup (mostly Monin) in it. If you want coffee frappuccino, just use brown cane sugar. There are thick chocolate sauces (e.g. also from Monin), together with dark cocoa powder it makes a delicious moccacino. If you like Java-Chip, you could take a few pieces of a crunchy, dark chocolate (I estimate 60-70% cocoa content) and chop it up with a knife beforehand. Macadamia syrup is great too - just try something!
  6. It is sufficient to mix this base liquid briefly for 15 seconds. Then add the ice cubes (provided you have the appropriate mixer - but you won`t be able to get a frappuccino without a blender) and mix again. In this phase it is crucial not to choose a power level that is too low, otherwise you will only get a little foam on top, but not the creamy, icy frappuccino consistency. So turn up the mixer and mix for 45-60 seconds. Pour into a glass and enjoy with a large straw!
