Fried fish in Cornmeal Batter

Fried fish in an unusual batter of cornflour turns out to be incredibly tasty and beautiful, and you can serve it for a regular dinner or for a holiday. Thanks to corn batter, the fish is crispy, but at the same time remains soft and juicy on the inside.

Ingredients

  • Fish fillet without bones – 500 g
  • Corn flour – 100 g
  • Ground sweet paprika – 0.5 teaspoon.
  • Turmeric – 0.25 teaspoon
  • Dried ground garlic – 1 teaspoon.
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Warm water – about 200 ml
  • Vegetable oil – for frying

How to cook fried fish in cornmeal batter:

Directions

  1. Season the fish with salt and pepper and leave to marinate for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Pour cornflour into a separate container, add dry garlic, sweet paprika, and turmeric.
  3. We mix everything. Little by little adding warm water, knead the batter.
  4. In terms of density, the batter should be approximately like store sour cream.
  5. Cover the pieces of fish with corn batter on all sides.
  6. Fry the fish in batter in vegetable oil until golden brown.
  7. Put the finished pieces of fish on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Fried fish in cornmeal batter turns out to be very tasty! Inside is juicy, tender fish meat, and on top – a crispy crust!
