Ingredients

For the vegetables:

  • 8 medium onion (s), red
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 120 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 110 g suar, brown

For the meat:

  • 2 tablespoon thyme
  • 2 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon pepper, from the mill
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 beef steak (s), from the hip
  • 4 handfuls rocket

Instructions

  1. Onions:
  2. Peel the onions, cut into thick slices, brush with olive oil and fry in a grill pan for 3-4 minutes on each side until they have brown streaks. Mix the vinegar and sugar in a shallow bowl, add the hot onions and keep warm.
  3. Flesh:
  4. Mix the thyme, oregano, pepper, a pinch of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Brush the steaks with it on both sides and let stand for about 10 minutes.
  5. Fry the steaks in a grill pan in 1 tablespoon of olive oil for about 3 minutes until they are medium (or longer if you do not want them medium). Wrap the steaks in aluminum foil and let them cook for about 5 minutes in the preheated oven at about 80 - 100 ° C. Put the plates in the stove and warm them up.
  6. Serve the steaks with the onions and rocket. If necessary, add salt to the steaks.
  7. Potatoes or baguettes are also suitable as a side dish.
