Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons clove (s)
  • 1 stick cinnamon or
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 12 small tomato (s)
  • 1 small onion (s)
  • 6 chilli pepper (s) (jalapeño)
  • 100 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Scald the tomatoes with boiling water, peel, core and quarter. Bring the vinegar to the boil briefly in a saucepan with cloves, cinnamon and coriander seeds crushed in a mortar. Cool and strain through a sieve.
  2. Bring half of the tomato pieces together with the sugar and the diced onion to the boil and let simmer for about 10 minutes while stirring constantly. Add the remaining tomatoes and cook for another 10 minutes. Add the vinegar, salt and jalapeño pieces to the tomatoes.
  3. Let it simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce has the desired consistency. You can serve the salsa hot or cold with fajitas, tortillas or for dipping.
  4. If you prepare the specified amount, you can also fill it into mason jars and seal them. It lasts for several months and you always have a supply.
