  • 175 g buttermilk
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • some vanilla
  • 300 grams flour
  • 2 teaspoons tartar baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. First you preheat the oven to 180 ° C and then mix the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Then put the buttermilk, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt in a bowl and stir briefly. Now knead in the flour mixture.
  2. Now roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1.5-2 cm thick and cut or cut shapes as desired (I got about 20 flowers with a diameter of about 4 cm). Now place these on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for about 12 minutes (depending on the size).
  3. If you want, you can of course also add raisins, cranberries or chocolate chips to the rolls or brush them thinly with egg or milk before baking. They taste particularly good with quark and fresh lemon curd (in my recipes).
