Orange Pie

Today we are preparing an airy and aromatic orange cake for tea. The ingredients are very simple, and the cake is very effective and beautiful.

Ingredients

  • Butter (softened) – 130 g
  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Orange – 1 pc. (zest of one and juice of half an orange)
  • Flour – 220 g
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon with a slide
  • Salt – 1/3 teaspoon
  • Vanillin – 1/3 teaspoon

For filling:

  • Oranges – 1-2 pcs. (depending on size)
  • Water – 120 ml
  • Sugar – 100 g

Directions

  1. Preparing the oranges. To do this, first put sugar in a saucepan with water. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Cut the oranges into slices 2-3 mm thick, dipped in syrup, and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes. The rind will become soft, but the orange circles will retain their shape.
  3. We take out the oranges from the syrup and cool. We turn on the oven and heat up to 180 degrees.
  4. Add sugar and salt to softened butter. Beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each with a mixer.
  5. Add the zest taken from a whole orange using a fine grater and the juice squeezed from half of the orange. Add vanilla. Whisk.
  6. Mix flour with baking powder and add to liquid ingredients. Stir the dough until smooth.
  7. Put the oranges in a mold (20 cm in diameter) covered with parchment paper, going onto the walls of the mold.
  8. Pour the prepared dough over the oranges.
  9. We bake a pie with oranges in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40 minutes. After baking, let the cake cool.
  10. Cover the finished cooled cake with a plate and turn over. We remove the form and paper.
