Ingredients

  • 0.75 liter ¾ orange juice, freshly squeezed, sieved
  • 1 kg sugar (canning sugar)
  • 3 teaspoon, heaped citric acid

Instructions

  1. Mix the freshly squeezed, sieved orange juice with the preserving sugar in a saucepan the evening before, cover and let rest.
  2. The next day add the citric acid and bring to the boil while stirring. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Always stir.
  3. After the cooking time, fill into clean bottles (place on a wet cloth to prevent the bottles from bursting), close and allow to cool.
  4. Bottles with twist-off lids are best. Please boil these beforehand.
  5. The syrup tastes best in mineral water.
  6. Well suited for the soda machine.
  7. The syrup should rest for 2-3 weeks, then the full aroma will develop.
