“Pizza” on Bread, with Sausage and Cheese (in a Frying Pan)

“Pizza” on bread can be prepared in the morning for a hearty breakfast or when there is no time to mess with the dough. Any filling can be, but I prefer to make this pizza with half-smoked sausage and cheese.

Ingredients

  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Milk – 60 ml
  • Baton – 1/3 pc. (6 slices)
  • Semi-smoked sausage – 100 g
  • Hard cheese – 60 g
  • Ketchup (or tomato sauce) – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 pinch (to taste)
  • Vegetable oil (for greasing the pan) – 1 tbsp
  • Fresh greens (for serving, optional) – 1 sprig

Directions

  1. Prepare all required ingredients.
    I took sliced ​​bread. If you have a whole loaf, cut it into slices about 1 cm thick.
  2. Break the eggs into a deep container. Pour in milk. Season with salt to taste.
  3. Loosen with a fork.
  4. Cut the sausage into thin slices.
  5. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
  6. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture and let sit for 5 minutes.
  7. Grease a frying pan (bottom dia – 23 cm) with vegetable oil. Place 5 slices of bread on the bottom of the pan. Break the remaining slice of bread into pieces and fill in the gaps. Pour the remaining egg mixture over the bread.
    Cover the skillet with a lid and cook the “pizza base” over low heat for about 7 minutes for the eggs to set.
  8. The “pizza base” can now be turned over. But if you don’t, the “pizza” will be softer. The choice is yours.
    Brush the pizza base with ketchup or tomato sauce.
  9. Place the sausage on top.
  10. Sprinkle with cheese.
  11. Cook the “pizza” on bread, covered, over low heat, until cheese is melted, 2 minutes.
  12. “Pizza” on bread with sausage and cheese, ready.
  13. Decorate the pizza with fresh herbs.
  14. Cut into portions as you would normally cut a pizza, and serve with tea, coffee, or tomato juice.
  15. This “pizza”, although far from the real one, is no worse able to satisfy hunger.
