Potatoes With Cheese and Mushroom Sauce (in the Oven)

Oven-baked potatoes are always delicious! Today I want to offer you a great option for cooking potatoes with onions – with a sauce of champignons, processed cheese and sour cream. The dish is simple and interesting at the same time, prepared from available products. Potatoes, soaked in sauce during baking, are saturated with a creamy mushroom aroma and taste.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 500 g
  • Processed cheese – 100 g
  • Champignons – 200 g
  • Sour cream – 130 g
  • Water (boiling water) – 80 ml
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Dried basil – 1 teaspoon
  • or fresh basil – 3 teaspoon (1-2 sprigs)
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – on the tip of a knife (to taste)
  • Sunflower oil (for frying) – 30-40 ml (2 tablespoons)

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients you need. Boil water. Turn on the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.
  2. Peel the mushrooms and cut into small pieces.
  3. Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan and fry the mushrooms over high heat, stirring occasionally, for 6-7 minutes.
  4. Grate the melted cheese on a coarse grater and add to the mushrooms.
  5. Add sour cream, dried basil (can be replaced with fresh), salt and black pepper there.
  6. Pour in water.
  7. Stir and bring sauce to a boil. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is parted and the sauce is creamy with mushroom slices (about 10 minutes).
  8. Peel the potatoes, rinse and cut into thin slices.
  9. Transfer the potatoes to a bowl, salt and stir.
  10. Peel the onions and cut into thin rings.
  11. Put the potato slices and onion rings in a baking dish, alternating at random.
  12. Put the cheese and mushroom sauce on top of the potatoes and onions.
  13. Bake the potatoes in a preheated oven, covered or covered with foil, for 25 minutes. Then remove the lid or foil – and into the oven for another 10 minutes at the same temperature.
  14. Potatoes with cheese and mushroom sauce, baked in the oven, ready.Serve hot potatoes.
