Ingredients

  • Butter, for greasing the baking sheet
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, cut into small pieces
  • 0.25 ¼ cup syrup, (caramel syrup)
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cup / s rice krispies

For decoration:

  • powdered sugar
  • water
  • Food coloring, for coloring the icing

Instructions

  1. Line the baking sheet (approx. 30 x 15 cm = 450 square centimeters) with baking paper and grease with butter. Make a template for a heart about 7.5 cm high out of cardboard.
  2. Heat the chocolate chips, syrup and butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate and butter have melted.
  3. Add the Rice Krispies to the chocolate mixture and mix until they are well covered.
  4. Put the mixture on the baking sheet and chill for about 20 minutes - if necessary, check in between. The mass must not become completely firm, just a little firmer.
  5. Cut out hearts approx. 7.5 cm in size from the dough, decorate with (colored) icing if you wish and chill until they are completely firm.
  6. Wrap the hearts individually in cling film and put them back in the cold until serving.
  7. TIP:
  8. If you don`t want to give away these pastries in the shape of a heart, you can simply cut the dough into square pieces and then continue. Of course, the size can be changed as you wish.
