Ingredients

  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 1 jar white beans (720ml)
  • 750 g potato (s)
  • 2 onions)
  • 40 g lard
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 clove (s)
  • 2 juniper berries
  • 4 sausages, (Mettwürstchen)
  • salt and pepper
  • 0.5 liter ½ vegetable stock

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and cut into small cubes and sauté with the lard in a saucepan until translucent. Now add the sauerkaut with the spices and the sausages cut into small pieces. Deglaze the whole thing with the vegetable stock and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, peel the potatoes, cut them into small cubes and cook them in a saucepan with water and salt. Please boil the potatoes separately, otherwise they will turn glassy.
  3. Fish the spices out of the sauerkraut. Now add the white beans from the glass (with liquid) and the potatoes (without liquid) to the sauerkraut and let them get hot again. Carefully season with salt and pepper.
