Ingredients

  • 465 grams flour
  • 110 g suar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 240 g cream cheese, room temperature
  • 115 g butter, cold
  • 200 g apricot (s), dried (soft apricots)
  • 1 large egg (s)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 60 ml milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  2. Mix the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Cut the butter into thin slices and mash it with a fork. Add the cream cheese and mix the two together. Halve and quarter the apricots and add to the butter mixture.
  3. Mix the egg with the vanilla extract and the milk, add the butter mixture and the flour mixture and knead into a dough by hand. If the dough is too dry, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk, for me the information is so accurate.
  4. Then take the dough out of the bowl and shape it into a round shape on a floured work surface, press flat so that it is about 2.5 cm thick. Now cut into 8 equal pieces with a sharp knife and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each piece with milk and bake in the oven for about 18 minutes. They should only be light in color so that they don`t get dry. Take out and let cool on a wire rack.
  5. They taste very good with breakfast, with butter and jam.
