Sour Milk Pie with Sausage and Herbs

A colorful, hearty and delicious pie made with sour milk, with sausage, herbs and turmeric – a ray of sunshine in your kitchen! Thanks to the addition of turmeric, the cake turns out to be incredibly bright, golden yellow, like the sun. Perfect food for cloudy days! And it’s delicious, and the mood rises, and cooking is easy! Try it!

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Sour milk – 300 ml
  • Wheat flour – 270 g
  • Vegetable oil – 200 ml
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Sugar – 10 g
  • Baking powder – 10 g
  • Ground turmeric – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper – 0.5 teaspoon

For filling:

  • Boiled sausage – 300 g
  • Fresh parsley – 40 g

Directions

  1. Cut the boiled sausage into cubes about 1 cm wide.
    Finely chop the parsley leaves.
  2. Combine curdled milk with eggs, salt, sugar and black pepper.
  3. Pour in vegetable oil. Add baking powder. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Sift the wheat flour into a bowl in small portions and stir in the liquid mixture.
  5. Add turmeric and parsley.
  6. Mix everything well again. The consistency of the dough should resemble thick sour cream.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200˚С.
    Cover the baking tray (I have a size of 32 * 29 cm) with
    baking paper so that the edges of the paper protrude over the sides. Pour the dough into a baking sheet and flatten gently.
  8. Place the sausage wedges on top of the dough.
  9. Bake the sausage and greens pie in the oven at 200˚C for 30-35 minutes, until browned. Then remove the cake from the oven and cool.
  10. Cut the cooled pie into portions, sprinkle with a pinch of herbs if desired and serve.
