Ingredients

  • 1 white cabbage
  • 1 kg bacon, streaky (dried meat) in one piece
  • 250 g lard
  • 1 kg potato (s)
  • sugar and cinnamon
  • broth

Instructions

  1. Cut the bacon into pieces approx. 15 cm thick and fry on all sides in an appropriately sized saucepan. Bacon out. Briefly sweat the finely chopped cabbage in the same saucepan. Add lard if you like. Max.250g! Deglaze with the broth and the bacon on top. Simmer for about 40 minutes with the pot closed.
  2. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Cut the bacon into approx. 5 mm lengthways slices on the baking sheet, sprinkle with plenty of sugar and cinnamon and put in the oven until the sugar is caramelized. About 10 minutes.
  4. Serve everything together and put some sugar and cinnamon on the table to season. Good Appetite. (Don`t forget a bargain after dinner)
