Whole Grain Cakes

A simple recipe for whole grain tortillas. This is a healthier alternative to bread that you can safely combine with any toppings.

Serving: 2-3

Ingredients

  • Whole grain flour – 250 grams
  • Water – 150 Milliliters (warm)
  • Salt – 1/2 Teaspoon

Directions

  1. Prepare all ingredients.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add warm water. Knead to a homogeneous dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into pieces, roll out thin cakes.
  5. Preheat a dry skillet over medium heat. Fry the tortillas for a couple minutes.
  6. The cakes should become plump as they cook.
  7. Place them on top of each other, oil the cakes if desired.
