Baked Fish with Vegetables, Cheese and Mayonnaise

Fillet of sea fish baked with vegetables is an excellent fish dish, even for every day, even for a festive table. Vegetables will add juiciness to the fish, and Maheev cheese and mayonnaise “Provencal with lemon juice” will decorate the dish with an appetizing golden-brown crust.

Ingredients

  • Fillet of sea fish (pollock, hake, tilapia, etc.) – 500 g
  • Carrots – 200 g
  • Onions – 120 g
  • Hard cheese – 150 g
  • Mayonnaise Maheev “Provencal with lemon juice” – 100 g
  • Butter – 100 g
  • Bread crumbs – 15-20 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Parsley (for serving) – a couple of sprigs

How to cook fish with vegetables, cheese, and mayonnaise:

Directions

  1. Wash the fish fillets, dry, and cut into pieces. Season with salt, ground pepper, and set aside for a while.
  2. Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
  3. Peel the onion and cut into thin half-rings.
  4. Peel and grate the carrots either on a regular medium grater or on a Korean style carrot grater.
  5. Leave a small piece of butter to grease the mold, and melt the rest of the butter in a frying pan over low heat.
  6. Add chopped onion to the melted butter.
  7. Fry onions for about 5 minutes over medium heat, until they are transparent golden brown.
  8. Then add the carrots, stir and continue frying the vegetables for another 5 minutes, until the carrots are soft.
  9. Grease a heat-resistant form with a volume of 1.2-1.5 liters on the bottom and walls with a piece of butter and sprinkle with a thick layer of crackers.
  10. Place the fish fillet pieces in a mold, in one or two layers.
  11. Put the carrot and onion frying on top of the fish, but without excess oil.
  12. Sprinkle with cheese.
  13. Add mayonnaise Maheev “Provencal with lemon juice” (a lemon note in the taste of mayonnaise will perfectly complement the taste of fish), smooth.
  14. Bake sea fish fillets with vegetables, cheese, and mayonnaise in the oven at 200 degrees 35-40 minutes, until golden brown.
  15. Cool the prepared baked fish with vegetables in the form until warm. Then arrange the dish on plates and garnish with fresh parsley sprigs.
