Ingredients
Beef – 500 Grams (tenderloin or chops)
Mushrooms – 200 Grams
Garlic – 2-3 Cloves
Onion – 1 Piece
Cheese – 100 Grams (pizza mozzarella or hard)
Thyme – 1 Pinch
Black Pepper – 1 Pinch
Butter – 20 grams
Yeast-free puff pastry – 400 grams (2 sheets)
Sesame – 1 Tbsp. the spoon
Egg – 1 Piece (for greasing the dough)
Directions
Cut the mushrooms and onion into strips. Chop the garlic. Fry the mushrooms in the loosened butter, then add the onion and garlic, fry until golden. Season with salt, pepper and sprinkle with thyme. Let cool.
Cut the beef, if it is a whole piece, with a book and unfold. If you have small pieces, beat off, lay the chops side by side, forming a solid layer. Season with salt and pepper.
Place half of the mushrooms on the long edge and wrap the meat in a roll.
Tie well with culinary string. Season with salt and pepper. Fry the meat on all sides until lightly blush in a non-greasy hot skillet. Remove from heat, chill a little, cut off the threads and dry the roll a little.
Rub the cheese into the remaining mushrooms, stir. Roll out a sheet of puff pastry to length, place mushrooms and cheese close to one edge.
Lay the meatloaf on top.
Raise the edges of the dough, cover the meat with an overlap. Pinch the narrow edges well.
Brush the surface of the dough with an egg. You can stop there, but if you want a more festive look, follow the instructions below.
Roll out the second sheet, make cuts in a checkerboard pattern. Lay the second sheet on the roll, stretching a little so that the slots open, fold the edges down. Brush with egg again and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees until the dough is ready. The color of the baked goods should not be too dark. Put the finished roll on a wire rack and cool slightly.
Serve whole or cut into chunks and serve with fresh vegetables.
