I want to introduce you to the recipe for Brazilian cheese buns (pão de queijo) that won me over. The buns have an attractive golden crust and a spicy cheese flavor and aroma.
Servings: 16
Cook: 35 minutes
Ingredients
Corn starch – 250 g
Hard cheese (Russian) – 250 g
Vegetable oil – 150 ml + for greasing the baking sheet
Milk – 300 ml
Eggs – 2 pcs.
Salt – 1.5 teaspoon
Flour – for sprinkling on a baking sheet
Directions
We will prepare the necessary ingredients for making buns. We turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
In a wide container, bring the milk mixed with vegetable oil and salt to a boil.
Add starch and mix quickly.
Turn off the fire. Drive eggs into the slightly cooled dough and mix again. Then add the cheese, grated on a fine grater. Knead an elastic buttery dough.
Grease a baking tray with vegetable oil and sprinkle with flour. We form small balls from the dough and put them on a baking sheet at a distance from each other.
We send the cheese buns to the preheated oven and bake at 180 degrees for about 25 minutes, until golden brown.
I recommend serving these cheese buns for breakfast with a cup of coffee!
