Ingredients

  • 4 onion (s)
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 150 g tomato (s), sieved
  • 4 vine tomato (s)
  • 100 g pickled cucumber (s)
  • 9 burger buns (sesame buns) or hamburger buns
  • 200 g cheese, rated
  • salt and pepper
  • paprika powder
  • Cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the onions into rings and sauté in a saucepan on medium heat for several minutes with the lid closed. Finally, fry briefly with the lid open until they turn slightly brown. If you like, you can season it with a little salt and pepper. Meanwhile, briefly sear the minced meat and deglaze with the tomatoes. Then season to taste and simmer until the liquid is reduced.
  2. Cut the tomatoes and pickles into slices to layer. Halve the sesame buns and put six lids aside. Dice the remaining halves of the burger and place in a baking dish (capacity approx. 2.5 liters). Then layer the burger casserole as you like. First I layer minced meat, then onions, pickles and finally the tomato slices. Then distribute three quarters of the cheese on top and cover with the burger lids that have been set aside. Finally, sprinkle the remaining cheese on the sesame buns.
  3. Bake the casserole for approx. 15 - 20 minutes at 200 ° C top / bottom heat.
  4. You can bake the delicious sesame buns or hamburger buns. As a quick alternative, you can also use ready-made ones.
  5. Note: The burger casserole is a tasty alternative to the classic burger. This is not picked up as usual, but rather eaten with a knife and fork.
  6. With regard to the layering and the selection of the ingredients, you are welcome to vary according to your taste.
