Canapes with Red Caviar and Cheese Salad

Delicious, appetizing and bright canapes with red caviar are an excellent appetizer for a festive buffet table.

  • Baguette (mini) – 1/2 pc.
  • Red caviar – 50 g
  • Hard cheese – 50 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • For decoration:
  • Lettuce leaves – 3-4 pcs.
  • Parsley


  1. Along with red caviar and baguette, we need the following products: hard cheese (Russian, sour cream, etc.), chicken egg, mayonnaise, ground black pepper, lettuce and parsley.
  2. Cut the baguette into thin slices, cutting off the hard crusts from the edges of the slices
  3. Put the chopped baguette slices in a dry frying pan, fry until light golden brown. Make sure not to overdry the slices. They should be soft in the middle.
  4. Now we are preparing a cheese salad. We take cheese and chicken egg.
  5. Rub the cheese on a medium grater.
  6. Boil the egg hard-boiled, cool in cold water, peel and rub on a fine grater.
  7. Pour the grated egg into the grated cheese.
  8. Add mayonnaise, salt, black pepper to the grated cheese with egg, mix. We have got a familiar and favorite cheese salad, but without garlic.
  9. Now take the cooled toasted baguette slices. We put a cheese salad on a slice of baguette with a “hat”, level the cheese mass with a fork to get a flat area for red caviar.
  10. So we spread the cheese salad on all the prepared baguette slices. We try to make sure that all canapes have the same cheese salad “hats”.
  11. Now on each canapé on top of the cheese salad, gently spread the red caviar in a heap (one teaspoon of caviar is enough for two canapes). We try to get the red caviar in the center of the canapes.
  12. We wash the lettuce leaves, dry them, put the leaves on a dish. Put ready-made canapes with red caviar and cheese salad on lettuce leaves. All canapes should be the same size, with the same amount of red caviar and cheese salad. On each canapé, you can put a sprig of dill or a leaf of parsley.
