Chakhokhbili in Georgian

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 1 pc.
  • Veget
  • able oil – how much will it take
  • Bulb onions – 4 pcs.
  • Tomato paste – 2 tbsp
  • Tomatoes – 4 pcs.
  • Sweet peppers – 2 pcs.
  • Hot pepper – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Adjika (real) – 1 teaspoon.
  • Utskho-suneli – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Cilantro – 1 bunch
  • Parsley -1 bunch
  • Favorite spices – to taste

Directions

Chakhokhbili in Georgian

  1. Wash the chicken. Dry. Cut the chicken into standard small pieces.
  2. Put the chicken in a saucepan, add 2 tablespoon. tablespoons of vegetable oil, lightly salt (1 teaspoon). Close the lid and simmer over very low heat for about 20 minutes.
  3. Peel and wash the onions. Cut into half rings. Heat a frying pan, pour 3-4 tablespoon. tablespoons of oil. Put out, stirring occasionally, but not much.
  4. It’s been 20 minutes since the chicken is stewing – add the fried onions to it in the pan. Simmer the chicken with the onions. Wash and coarsely chop the tomatoes.
  5. Put 2 tablespoon. tablespoons of tomato paste in a frying pan in which the onions were fried, and fry it for 1 minute over high heat. Throw the chopped tomatoes into the tomato paste and simmer with it for 2 minutes. Put the fry in the pan with the chicken.
  6. Wash, peel and cut the peppers into strips. Add to the chicken. Simmer everything together. Add a little water, so that the chicken and vegetables are not too bulging. Add 1 teaspoon of adjika to the pan   
  7. Wash and chop the parsley and cilantro. Add half the greens and hot pepper to taste. Simmer the chicken for another 20-30 minutes.
  8. Peel and chop the garlic finely. The readiness of the chakhokhbili is determined by the chicken meat – it should be strongly boiled, flaking into pieces. Add garlic, remaining herbs, spices, and salt.

    Mix everything and close the lid. After 10 minutes (the seasonings should work), the chakhokhbili can be served on the table.
