Chicken Kebab with Yakitori Sauce

Chicken kebab is grilled with Yakitori sauce. Meat is served with the same sauce.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs without bones and skin – 6 pcs.
  • Young onion (with green feathers)
  • For Yakitori sauce:
  • Sake – 60 g
  • Soy sauce – 75 g
  • Mirin wine – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Corn starch – 0.5 teaspoon.
  • Water – 1 teaspoon.

Directions

  1. Soak 12 bamboo sticks in cold water for about 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare yakitori sauce. In a small saucepan, combine sake, soy sauce, mirin and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat, simmer the sauce for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, dilute the starch in 1 teaspoon of water, add this mixture to a saucepan with sauce, mix well. Transfer the sauce to a small bowl.
  3. Cut the chicken into small pieces.
  4. Cut the onion diagonally into 3 cm pieces.
  5. Turn on the grill to preheat.
    On the soaked skewers, string chicken meat and onions, put on a preheated grill, fry for about 5-10 minutes, periodically greasing with sauce and turning.
  6. Serve the kebabs with the remaining yakitori sauce.
