Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 500g flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 200 g suar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 lemon (s), grated zest
  • 5 drops bitter almond flavor
  • 250 g butter

For painting:

  • Egg yolk or couverture

For decoration:

  • Egg whites and nuts or
  • Lemon juice and powdered sugar, desiccated coconut or sugar pearls

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough the day before: knead all dough ingredients together, wrap in aluminum foil and leave in the refrigerator until baked.
  2. Line the trays with baking paper, preheat the oven to 200 degrees top / bottom heat. Roll out the dough 3 mm thick, cut out cookies with different shapes. Bake each tray for 8-10 minutes. Makes approx. 4 trays.
  3. To get creative:
  4. Brush the cookies with egg yolk before baking or
  5. Make a nut macaroon dough, put a dollop of it on the cookies, press half a walnut or a hazelnut on top.
  6. or:
  7. Cover with couverture after baking or
  8. Brush with icing made of powdered sugar and lemon juice and sprinkle with desiccated coconut or sugar pearls.
