Ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 250 g semolina
  • 1 ½ kg apples and the juice the apples
  • 110 g butter or mararine
  • 2 packs vanilla sugar
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon rum
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 150 grams sugar
  • Icing sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. The shape size is 35 x 25 cm.
  2. In a bowl, covered with a cloth, the apples that have been peeled beforehand are roughly grated. Then the apples are squeezed well with the help of the cloth and the juice is collected. Mix the grated apples with the rum and cinnamon.
  3. The dry ingredients are mixed together. Then 1/3 of the dry ingredients are put into the mold, then half of the apples are spread on it and half of the apple juice is poured on it, then repeat the process and finish with the dry ingredients.
  4. Spread the cold butter on top in slices.
  5. The cake is baked in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for 45 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let the cake cool down completely and then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
