Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 cup flour
  • 0.5 ½ cup milk
  • 3 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • Flour, for the work surface
  • 1 egg (s), for brushing, mixed with a little milk

For the filling:

  • 0.5 ½ cup sugar, brown
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • some cornstarch

For the cast:

  • powdered sugar
  • milk

Instructions

  1. Dough:
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, margarine and salt with the food processor and stir in the milk. If the dough is too sticky, add a little flour.
  3. Roll out the dough as thinly as possible on flour and cut into approx. 10 cm long, 7 wide rectangles. Two rectangles are needed for a pop tart
  4. Filling:
  5. Mix the cinnamon, sugar and cornstarch.
  6. Brush a rectangle of pastry with the egg-milk mix and spread the filling generously on top. Cover with a second rectangle of dough, press the edges together well and brush the top again with milk egg. For a nicer look, carefully press the dough along the edge with the knife. Bake at 175 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Topping:
  8. Mix powdered sugar with a little milk and spread on the cooled poptarts. Decorate with colorful sprinkles if necessary.
  9. Tip:
  10. If you want to do without the topping, you can simply sprinkle some sugar on the Pop Tarts while baking, this will then caramelize very nicely.
  11. You can also use jam or Nutella as a filling.
