Meat and Potato Balls Baked With Garlic

Ingredients

  • For meatballs:
  • Minced pork – 400 g
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Bread crumbs – 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

  • For potato balls:
  • Boiled potatoes, hot (mashed potatoes) – 400-450 g
  • Cheese – 100 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
    *
  • Garlic – 8-10 cloves
  • Fresh thyme – 5-7 branches
  • Vegetable oil – for lubricating molds and balls

Directions

  1. We’ll start with the meatballs, but immediately cook the potatoes.
  2. Finely chop the onion.
  3. We send the onion to the minced meat.
  4. Add crackers, salt, egg, black pepper to the minced meat with onions. Mix well.
  5. We roll minced meat balls. I got 13 pieces.
  6. We make mashed potatoes from boiled potatoes and make potato balls.
  7. Add butter, salt, black pepper to hot potatoes. As long as the mashed potatoes are hot, the butter will melt well. We mix.
  8. Add the egg to the puree, mix. The potato dough is ready.
  9. Cut the cheese into cubes.
  10. Now form the potato balls about the same size as the meat balls. Put a piece of cheese in the middle of the potato balls. It turned out 11 potato balls.
  11. The form (I have a glass one) is well greased with vegetable oil. At this time, the oven can already be preheated to 200 degrees.
  12. Trying to alternate meat and potato balls with each other, put them in a mold. Lubricate the balls with vegetable oil.
  13. Top with peeled garlic cloves and thyme sprigs.
  14. We bake meat and potato balls in the oven for 40 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
  15. Juicy meatballs, potato balls with cheese are very tender, with a crispy crust! Garlic – and that is very appetizing baked!
