Meat Cutlets Stuffed with Canned Peas and Cheese

Cutlets or zrazy? Whatever you call them, it will turn out delicious anyway! Juicy minced meat, melted cheese, and canned green peas – you can’t walk past such cutlets!

Ingredients

  • Minced meat – 400 g
  • Canned green peas – 40-50 g
  • Hard cheese – 40-50 g
  • Small onions – 1 pc.
  • Milk (or cold water) – 3-4 tbsp
  • Egg – 0.5 pcs.
  • Fresh dill – 0.5 bunch
  • Seasoning for meat – 1-1.5 teaspoon
  • Dried garlic – 0.5 teaspoon
  • or fresh garlic – 1 clove
  • Wheat flour – 4 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon (to taste)
  • Freshly ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Peel the onion. Add seasoning for meat, garlic (dried or freshly squeezed through a press), and freshly ground pepper to the minced meat. Salt, considering that the seasoning may also contain salt. To make the cutlets juicy, pour in milk (or cold water).
  2. Rub the onion on a coarse grater and add to the bowl with the minced meat.
  3. Finely chop the dill and also add to the minced meat.
  4. Beat the egg with a fork. Pour half of the egg mixture into the minced meat. (You can do without the egg, then you need to beat the minced meat more carefully.)
  5. Mix the minced meat with your hands until smooth. Then we beat off the minced meat, collecting it with both hands in a lump and throwing it on the bottom of the bowl 10-15 times.
  6. Rub the cheese on a coarse grater.
  7. Divide the minced meat into four parts and form balls from them.
  8. Knead some of the minced meat into a cake. Put half a teaspoon of peas and cheese in the center.
  9. Raise the edges of the minced meat cake and connect, forming oblong cutlets.
  10. We do this with all parts of the minced meat.
  11. Roll the resulting minced meat cutlets with peas and cheese in flour.
  12. We turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees. Line the baking dish with foil or grease with vegetable oil. Preheat a frying pan with vegetable oil over high heat. Put the cutlets in hot oil and fry for 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  13. Transfer the fried patties to a baking dish and place them in the oven for 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can cook the patties in a skillet. To do this, reduce the heat to a minimum and fry for another 3-5 minutes on each side. Or after frying the cutlets, if you are satisfied with the degree of browning of the crust, pour 50 ml of water into the pan and simmer the cutlets over low heat under the lid for 7-10 minutes.
  14. Meat cutlets with canned green peas and cheese are ready. Serve cutlets with any side dish or fresh/pickled vegetables. Enjoy your meal!
