Meat Pie “Cheeseburger”

The most delicious meat pie I’ve tasted in my life. In terms of the combination of products, this pie is very similar to a cheeseburger. The filling is very juicy, and the dough is soft and fluffy. Having prepared this meat pie for the first time, we ate it together at a time, we just could not tear ourselves away.

Cook: 2 hours

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Water or milk (38-40 degrees) – 200 ml
  • Dry yeast – 5 g
  • Sugar – 2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Vegetable oil – 40 g
  • Flour – 450-460 g + for rolling dough

For filling:

  • Minced beef – 600 g (I have 550 g of minced meat and 50 g of lard)
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Canned cucumbers – 2-3 pcs.
  • Hard cheese – 4 slices (100 g)
  • Ketchup – 150 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

To grease the cake:

  • Yolk – 1 pc.
  • Milk – 1 tbsp

To sprinkle on the cake:

  • White sesame – 1 handful

Directions

  1. For the test, dissolve yeast in warm water (or milk). Add sugar and a little (4 teaspoon) flour, mix. Wait 5-10 minutes.
  2. If the dough is foaming, then the yeast is good and you can continue kneading the dough.
    Add salt to the dough, mix.
    Pour the dough into a bowl of flour.
    Add egg (room temperature) and vegetable oil.
  3. Knead into a soft, sticky dough. The amount of flour can be different for everyone, look at the consistency of the dough.
    Place the dough on the table. Add a very small amount of flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands and table, and knead for 4-5 minutes.
    Round the dough, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place until doubled (40-60 minutes).
  4. For the filling, fry the minced meat for 12-15 minutes so that all moisture evaporates from it. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cut the cucumbers into slices.
    Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
    I bought the cheese already sliced. If you have a whole piece of cheese, you can grate it or cut it into thin slices.
  6. Divide the dough into two parts: 2/3 and 1/3.
    Thoroughly dust the surface of the table with flour. But do not use too much flour so that the dough does not end up clogged. Roll out most of the dough into a large circle, which will cover the bottom and walls of a detachable baking dish with a diameter of 22 cm. Grease the form with vegetable oil, lay out the dough sheet.
  7. Put the minced meat on the dough, smooth with an even layer. Drizzle with ketchup and smooth.
  8. Then lay out a layer of onions and a layer of cucumbers.
  9. Top with cheese.
  10. Roll out a smaller part of the dough into a circle around the dia of the mold and cover the filling. Pinch the edges well, then wrap them inside the form. Cover the cake with a towel and let it rise for 10-15 minutes.
    Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  11. Grease the top of the pie with yolk and milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  12. Bake the Cheeseburger meat pie for 40 minutes at 180 degrees. If the top of the cake is browned too quickly, cover the tin with foil and continue baking.
  13. Cool the Cheeseburger pie under a towel and remove from the mold.
  14. Cut the pie into portions and serve.
