Moldavian Meatballs

For lunch – delicious meatballs with your favorite side dish. What else is needed?

Ingredients

  • Meat (pork, beef) – 600 g
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Serving herbs (optional) – to taste
  • For the sauce:
  • Fresh tomatoes – 2-3 pcs.
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Bay leaf – 1 pc.
  • Flour – 1-2 tbsp
  • Dry white wine – 80 g
  • Black peppercorns – to taste
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Rinse the meat, cut into pieces, mince. (You can use ready-made minced meat.)
  2. Peel the onion, wash, cut into small cubes.
  3. Put the onion in a bowl for the minced meat, beat in an egg, salt and pepper.
  4. Mix the minced meat thoroughly.
  5. Form meatballs (small, walnut-sized) with wet hands.
  6. Preheat a frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Put the meatballs in hot oil. Fry over medium heat for one minute.
  7. Turn over and fry on the other side in the same way.
  8. Rinse fresh tomatoes, peel, grate on a coarse grater. Peel the carrots, wash, grate on a medium grater. Peel the onion, wash, cut into small cubes. Put all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl, mix thoroughly.
  9. Pour meatballs with vegetable sauce. Boil.
  10. Simmer on the smallest heat, covered for 10-15 minutes.
  11. Moldavian meatballs are ready. Serve with your favorite side dish. When serving, you can sprinkle with parsley and dill.
