Pork Chakhokhbili

A quick, tasty, and easy-to-prepare dinner – a variation on the Georgian dish, pork chakhokhbili.

Cook: 1 hour 20 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Pork – 300 g
  • Medium onions – 2 pcs.
  • Large tomatoes – 2 pcs.
  • Tomato paste – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  • Fresh greens
  • Salt to taste
  • Spices to taste
  • Hops-suneli seasoning – to taste

Directions

  1. Put a frying pan with a thick bottom or a cauldron on the stove to heat up.
    Cut the meat into pieces, pour it into a cauldron heated with oil. Fry the meat for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, coarsely chop the tomatoes and onions.
  3. After 10 minutes, the meat will start to let a lot of juice, drain it. Add water if necessary.
  4. Once the meat is cooked, add the onion, tomato, and tomato paste. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes until vegetables are tender.

    Meanwhile, chop the herbs and squeeze the garlic.
  5. Add salt, spices, herbs, and garlic to the cauldron. Turn off the heat and leave to simmer on the stove.
