Ingredients

  • 1.3 kg red cabbage
  • 100 g onion (s), diced
  • 30 grams sugar
  • 60 g butter
  • 100 ml water
  • 150 ml jelly (black currant jelly)
  • 3 tablespoon Crème de Cassis (black currant liqueur)
  • 3 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 3 juniper berries
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the red cabbage and slice into strips. Caramelize the sugar in a large saucepan. Deglaze with the butter. Add red cabbage and onion cubes and sauté briefly. Add all other ingredients and simmer over medium heat for approx. 40 minutes.
