Ingredients

  • 275 g flour (type 550)
  • 70 g suar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 125 g butter, cut into cubes
  • 125 g buttermilk
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and baking powder together. Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients. Stir with the mixer until a crumbly dough has formed or process with your hands. In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk and egg together. Quickly fold the mixture into the butter and flour mixture until all the ingredients have just just blended.
  2. Roll out the dough about 2 cm thick on a floured worktop. Cut out approx. 10 circles with a glass or something similar (5 cm diameter). Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 175 ° C for approx. 10 - 12 minutes.
