Waffles with Ham and Cheese

Ideal waffles for hearty breakfast lovers. Add your favorite ingredients directly to the dough – ham, cheese, herbs, spices. We bake in a waffle iron for making bulk (Belgian) waffles. This will make this salty snack food crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can safely experiment with the filling.

Ingredients

  • Oatmeal or wheat flour – 100 g of flour (⅔ glass with a capacity of 250 ml)
  • Kefir – 150 g (¾ glass with a capacity of 250 ml)
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Hard cheese – 50 g
  • Ham – 50 g
  • Green onion – several feathers
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Cut the ham into small cubes, grate the cheese, cut the green onion into rings. Beat eggs with a whisk.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients (flour, kefir, baking powder, butter, cheese, ham, onion), salt, pepper, mix well.
  3. Bake in a waffle iron for thick waffles for 5-7 minutes (depending on the power of your appliance).
  4. You can serve waffles with sour cream or tomato sauce.
