Ingredients

  • 185 g flour, (whole wheat flour)
  • 70 g oat flakes, crunchy
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 3 large egg (s)
  • 355 ml buttermilk
  • 55 g butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon oil, neutral
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Sauce, fruit sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Put the flour in a bowl, grind the oat flakes very finely in a blender and add to the flour. Add the baking powder, salt and mix everything. Mix the eggs briefly, then add the buttermilk, cooled, melted butter, oil and sugar and stir. Now add the flour mixture and stir in briefly, everything should be well combined.
  2. Then heat a waffle iron, depending on the manufacturer, you may need some butter for frying.
  3. Now pour the dough into the waffle iron in portions and bake until golden brown.
  4. Serve the waffles right away, they taste fresh, still warm, best.
  5. You should also serve a fruit sauce with it, a blueberry sauce tastes particularly good. I also dust the waffles with powdered sugar.
  6. With my large waffle iron, the batter made 8 pieces.
