  • 250 g spaetzle
  • Salt water
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 onion (s)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • salt and pepper
  • Thyme
  • paprika powder, noble sweet
  • possibly herbal cream cheese
  • some Emmentaler, grated
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaetzle according to packet instructions.
  2. While the spaetzle cooks, wash, core, and dice the red pepper. Cut the onion into small cubes.
  3. Drain the spaetzle in a sieve and rinse with cold water for 1 minute.
  4. Heat oil for frying in a pan over medium heat. Add the diced peppers and onion cubes and fry for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  5. Add the cooked spaetzle to the pan and mix well over medium heat. Stir in the honey and season with salt, pepper, thyme, and paprika powder to taste.
  6. Stir in herbal cream cheese if desired. Sprinkle grated Emmentaler over the top and let it melt for 1-2 minutes over medium heat.
