Instructions

  1. Cook the chopped turnips (cut off the outer skin) together with the roasted pork for about 45-60 minutes. Boil jacket potatoes at the same time. Heat the cabbage or boiled sausage in a separate saucepan (approx. 15 minutes).
  2. Put equal parts of jacket potatoes, beets and the cooked carrots in a large saucepan with a little butter and mash. Heat while adding Kasseler cooking liquid. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Leave out the bacon cubes and mix with the finished beet pulp.
  3. Pickled Silesian cucumbers and a cold pilsner go well with this.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
