Almond Cookies “Cantucci”

Cantucci – macaroons – are more like croutons with whole almond kernels.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour / Flour – 250 g
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Almonds (whole) – 150 g
  • Chicken egg (medium) – 2 pieces
  • Butter (melt) – 30 g
  • Honey – 1 teaspoon.
  • Anise (seeds) – 10 pcs
  • Baking dough – 5 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch.

Directions

  1. Beat the sugar and eggs, add the melted butter. Sift flour, add baking powder, salt, anise, and gradually add to the egg mixture. And lastly, add the almonds. Form the dough and put it in the refrigerator for an hour.
  2. Then we cut into two parts and form the loaves.
  3. We bake at 180 * C for 30 minutes. The loaves should be browned.
  4. We take out the pastries from the oven, cut into pieces with a slight slope and again send them to the oven for 10 minutes. The knife must be sharp.
  5. Put on a towel and let cool. They should dry out properly. Cantucci – this famous crouton is recommended to be served, according to tradition, with a dessert wine. Well, as we are used to, we will serve with tea.
