Ingredients

  • Flour – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Semolina – 1 cup
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Apples – 3-4 medium
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Walnuts – 50 g
  • Milk – 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, semolina and baking powder together in a bowl.
  2. Peel and core the apples, grate on a coarse grater. Sprinkle with lemon juice and stir.
  3. Line a baking dish with parchment. Pour 1 cup of the dry mixture and spread evenly.
  4. Layer one-third of the grated apples on top and level. Repeat with dry mix and apples, finishing with a top layer of apples.
  5. Roughly chop the walnuts and sprinkle over the top.
  6. Bring the milk to a boil. Pour hot milk evenly over the pie, piercing it in several places so the milk reaches the bottom.
  7. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) for 50 minutes.
