  • 600 g chicken breast fillet (s), 3 pieces
  • 2 onions)
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • 1 tablespoon, heaped herbs, chopped
  • 4 tablespoon, heaped mayonnaise
  • 1 pinch clove powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ paprika powder, noble sweet
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ pepper
  • 2 egg (s)
  • 3 tablespoon, heaped flour
  • Oil for frying

  1. Cut the chicken breast into fine strips, a little finer than for sliced meat. Chop the onions in the food processor or grate them on the coarse grater. In a bowl, mix the meat with the onions, crushed garlic, mayonnaise, herbs and spices. Cover the meat and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  2. Then beat the eggs into the mixture and add the flour, stir well and let everything stand for another 15 minutes.
  3. In a hot pan with oil, portion the meat mixture with a tablespoon and fry the chopped steaks on both sides. Depending on the size of the spoon, there will be around 15-20 small steaks.
  4. Such minced steaks are also made from pork, beef or fish in Ukraine.
  5. Note: Ukrainian mayonnaise is slightly tart and hotter than the mayonnaise commonly used here. This is one of the reasons why mayonnaise is very often used in Ukrainian cuisine, not only for salads, but also for marinating or gratinating meat (see recipes in my profile).
