Ingredients
- 1 kg elderberries, plucked and weighed
- 400 g apples, sweet e.. olden delicious
- 1 orange (s), organic
- 700 g preservin suar, 2: 1

- Rest time: 12 hours

- Put the plucked elderberry in a saucepan with the preserving sugar.
- Wash the orange and rub dry. Rub the peel and add half of the peel to the elderberry sugar mixture. Keep the rest in a bowl.
- Squeeze the orange and add the juice to the saucepan as well. Stir everything and let it steep for about 12 hours (preferably overnight).
- The next day, peel the apples, prepare them, cut them into small cubes and add them to the elderberry.
- Bring the jam to the boil and simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Then turn through the brisk Lotte and bring to the boil again briefly. Make a gelling test and season to taste. If you like, you can now add the rest of the orange peel.
- When the jam has gelatinized, pour it boiling hot into the prepared Twist Off jars, close immediately and turn around for about 2 minutes so that a vacuum is created.
- This is a very nice fruity variant of elderberry jam. The orange can also be left out and replaced with cinnamon. But we like it better with orange.
