Instructions

  1. Add the green spelled to the boiling broth and simmer on low heat for about 40 minutes until soft. If there is still liquid, strain briefly.
  2. Now puree the soft-boiled green spelled with the hand blender, but do not process it into pulp (just make it a little smaller, it can still have whole seeds and then has more bite). Let the mixture cool down a little.
  3. In the meantime, chop the garlic and onions very finely, best with a food processor (the smaller, the more pleasant it is to eat). Peel the carrot and cut it into small cubes. Sweat the garlic and onion mixture with the diced carrots in hot olive oil until everything is nice and translucent (do not let it burn).
  4. Add this mixture to the green spelled, mix with the egg, cheese and spices and mix well. If the mixture appears too moist, add breadcrumbs or panko flour as required and mix again (must not be too dry or too wet). Put the mixture in the refrigerator for another 15 minutes.
  5. Shape approx. 8 - 10 patties / patties with damp hands. Let them cool again briefly before frying, this will fry them better.
  6. Let the rapeseed oil get hot in a pan and fry the plantlets for about 4 minutes on each side, then place on kitchen paper and drain. Don`t be too frugal with the oil, otherwise they won`t be as nice.
  7. Go with boiled potatoes and spinach with a yogurt dip.
  8. Normally you use crushed green spelled for the planters, but I prefer to use whole ones for my planters. When using crushed green kernels, the part with the hand blender is omitted.
