Ingredients

  • 500 g tomato (s)
  • 500 g cucumber (s)
  • 250 g onion (s)
  • 1 lemon (s)
  • Coriander green, fresh
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cumin, ground
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ cayenne pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the cucumber, cut the tomatoes, cucumber and onions into cubes about 1/2 cm in size. Squeeze the lemon and chop the coriander leaves. Mix everything with the other ingredients in a bowl and let it steep for 15 minutes.
  2. Tips:
  3. If you don`t have or like coriander, you can leave it out or replace it with parsley (smooth as possible).
  4. Actually, no oil really belongs in there, especially if the kachumber is served as a side dish. If you don`t want to do without it, take 2 tablespoons of tasteless oil (e.g. sunflower oil, not olive oil).
  5. Be careful with the cumin. It`s very intense. It is better to take only a little at first and season again if necessary.
  6. A few mint leaves make the whole thing a little fresher.
  7. A few chopped chili peppers can`t hurt if you like it a little spicier.
