Lazy Bread Pies

Today I suggest making very quick and simple lazy pies without dough! Toast bread is used as a base. You can have any filling, I have mashed potatoes with bacon and fried onions.

Cook: 30 mins

Servings: 2


  • Toast bread – 10 pieces
  • Boiled potatoes – 5 pcs.
  • Bulb onions – 2 pcs.
  • Bacon – 100 g
  • Milk – 50-80 ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Egg – 2 pcs.


  1. We’ll start making lazy bread cakes with the filling. Cut the bacon into small pieces and fry in a dry skillet. Transfer the fried bacon from the pan to a cup.
  2. We cut the onion, put it in the pan and fry it on the remaining bacon fat.
  3. We make mashed potatoes from boiled potatoes, add milk (the amount of milk depends on the potatoes, look at the consistency so that the pies are not very dry).
  4. Add fried onions, bacon to the puree, mix. Salt and pepper to taste.
  5. We form pies. We take a piece of bread, roll it out with a rolling pin.
  6. We take a round shape and cut out one half of the pie from one piece of bread and also cut out the other half of the pie from the second piece of bread. Then put the filling on one half and cover with the second half of the bread.
  7. We pinch the edges with a fork. (You can also do more economically without cutting out the molds, place the filling on one side of a piece of bread, fold the piece of bread in half and pinch.)
  8. Shake 2 eggs. Let’s dip pies in them. We bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes or fry in a pan – it will be much faster.
  9. Lazy bread pies are ready!
