Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into cubes. Fry the onion in the butter until soft, deglaze with the milk and pour everything over the bread. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg, add the eggs and let rest for about 1 hour. Then add the chopped chives and the grated cheese and season again if necessary. The dough should be really firm.
  2. Shape the mixture into dumplings, pour them into salted, boiling water and let them steep (takes about 20 minutes).
  3. A delicious mushroom ragout goes well with it.

About Editorial Staff

The Boss Kitchen editorial staff oversees content review, fact-checking, and recipe verification across the site. Published articles pass through the editorial team before going live, ensuring ingredient lists, techniques, cooking times, and nutritional claims hold up in a home kitchen. The team coordinates contributions across the site writers, handles reader corrections, and maintains consistency in measurement conventions, safety guidance, and dietary labeling. Posts under this byline typically represent team-reviewed reference material, site announcements, or editorial roundups rather than individual-author features, and they are held to the same sourcing standards as bylined recipe and product coverage.
