Ingredients

  • 125 ml milk
  • 250 g flour
  • 0.5 ½ pack dry yeast
  • 40 g suar
  • 2 packs vanilla sugar
  • 2 egg (s) (size M)
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • raisins or cranberries
  • Chocolate (chocolate chips or similar)
  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk in the microwave. Mix the flour, dry yeast, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Separate one egg, put the yolks aside. Add the egg white and the whole egg together with the warmed milk to the flour and knead everything well until a smooth dough is formed. Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-protected place for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Sprinkle the work surface with flour and put some flour on the dough, also dust your hands with flour. Now take some dough out of the bowl and place it on the work surface so that the dough is dusted with flour all around and no longer sticks.
  3. Add raisins, cranberries or chocolate chips to the batter as required. Shape the dough into the desired shape (e.g. bun shape, plait shape, knot shape) and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  4. Mix the egg yolk with 1 tablespoon of milk and brush the top of the rolls with it. Bake the rolls at 180 ° C on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes. Make sure that the rolls don`t get too dark. The baking time depends on the size of the rolls and the oven, before the rolls are taken out of the oven, please use the chopsticks to check whether the rolls are done!
  5. Jam tastes very good with it. The quantities given are sufficient for 8 rolls, 2 rolls correspond to 1 serving.
